How To Plan For A Fun Oscars Party in 6 Steps

The 89th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 26, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 7:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. PST. The show will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. So what better way to watch the show than with your friends. Why not throw a viewing party. Here are some quick tips to get you started.

1. Invite your friends.
The more the merrier. Give them the star treatment by setting up a "red carpet" and taking tons of photos. Don't forget the swag bags!

2. Dress to Impress.
Have your friends dressed in their best attire, ball gowns are encouraged, but not necessary. I'll be wearing this cute blouse from Who What Wear to keep with the gold theme.

3. Decorate!
Golden is key! I got a ton of gold colored decorations from Target. Use balloons, plates, streamers, etc to get Oscar ready. You can even find cute Oscar statues and Hollywood themed decoration at your local party store. Amazon also has you covered with gold party supply bundles!

4. Snacks
Since the plan is to be in front of the television, remember to keep snacks to small, easy, mess free items. I'll be having tons of POPCORN! I found the cute bins and lined them went gold tissue paper to fill with snacks.

5. Drinks
You'll need everything from water, to soft drinks to alcoholic beverages. Cascade Ice Water has some great low calorie drinks. Place them on Hollywood themed coasters. Check them out below. There's even a kid-friendly one for those moms who will have the kiddos with them.

6. Play the Oscar Challenge.
I've got the big categories on index cards. That way we can all write our answers and have them ready to show when the winner is announced. The person with the most correct answers gets a prize. I've got gold themed flasks ready to giveaway! Other color options are fun too.

How will you be participating in the Oscar Fun?
