WDW - Changes to Stroller Policy and More

Disney changes stroller policy, Hope our stroller makes the cut
A couple of changes are taking affect this coming May. And for families one of them may cause some issues. We are a family that uses strollers. And although our stroller meets the requirements I know there are many that may not. Be sure to know the size of your stroller before you take yours all the way to Florida or rent the incorrect size. I’m pro strollers, but also agree that I hate the bulky supersized ones that just make it hard for anyone without a stroller or a smaller stroller to navigate. There are different stroller sizes out there so just shop around. I’m also sure Disney will still be offering their rentals. I only have two children, but can see how this could be a problem with those families with three or more stroller aged children. I for one love having that extra space to put our snacks and souvenirs.

Beginning May 1, Disney is adjusting thier guidelines on stroller sizes, which will require them to be no larger than 31″ (79cm) wide and 52″ (132cm) long. The good news – many strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers, fit within these size guidelines. Beginning May 1, stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted.

Also beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney District in California.

There will be dsignated smoking areas outside the entrances of the areas listed above and at Disney Springs in Florida. For guests who have room or dining reservations, smoking areas are also available at Disney Resort hotels.

Beginning today, if you plan to bring a cooler or cooler bag to store snacks and drinks for theme park or water park adventures, it’s important to know that loose or dry ice are no longer permitted in the parks.

You can keep your items cooled by using reusable ice packs instead. You can also take advantage of the complimentary cups of ice and water at any Quick-Service location for your cooler and for drinking. I’ve tried the water fountains and well, I’d rather wait in line for a cup lol.
